It started with a fish tank.
Aquaponics is usually big. Barrels, greenhouses, plumbing. It is a wonderful idea, fish and plants keeping each other alive, and almost nobody has room for it.
So the question was a small one. What is the least amount of aquaponics that still works? Could it fit inside the tank that is already in the room?
The first Bubble was drawn on a computer, 3D printed, filled with a little gravel and lowered into a tank to see what would happen. Air went in. The water dropped. The siphon tripped, the air left in one breath, and the water came back. Then it did it again.
That first one was about five inches tall. The one we sell still is.
Where it goes from here.
The Bubble is the smallest thing we will ever make. The rest of the line carries the same cycle out of the tank and into the house: a sill, a counter, a stand. Each one is a tank with a garden on it, sized for a room people actually live in.
The long idea is simple. A home should be able to grow some of what it eats, quietly, in a corner, without anyone needing to become a farmer.
